Following directions is an essential life-time skill. As young children we learn to follow verbal directions. As we grow, the directions we need to follow become more complex. This book contains a variety of activities for students who are ready for more complex instructions that include several steps and will challenge a higher level of critical thinking skills. Activities include labeling a blueprint, finding hidden words, learning emergency first aid, making a seating chart, and giving directions as well as following them. The activity scenarios are appropriate for students in grades 4 and up.
Level 3 Skills:
As students complete each activity, they call upon their language, reading comprehension, writing, math, and art skills. They also use reasoning, logic, and visualization skills that develop critical thinking.
