Example: The Gone Fishin’ lesson in this unit graphically depicts nine swimming fish- each carrying a completed addition problem. Students are challenged to check each addition problem by subtracting. They are then instructed to put a hook in the mouth of those fish with correct answers and to draw a smile on those with incorrect answers – since they got away!
