Take students on a journey... back in time to The Boston Tea Party, the creation of the Continental Congress, and the training of the First Continental Army to fight against the Intolerable Acts passed by Great Britain. This slice from our American history covers all these important events in the development of our nation.

Part of our NEW Daily Literacy Series, these lessons tackle essential social studies topics while focusing on improving essential reading and writing skills.

Each three-part lesson, complete with historical images, is divided into small, manageable, daily mini-lessons. Skill-based reading and writing exercises follow each mini-lesson and are designed to help students understand what they have read and retain key historical information. Each lesson uses short, easy-to-read sentences, a lower 4th-5th grade reading level, simple vocabulary, and repetition/review. In addition, a words-to-know section helps students get familiar with any challenging vocabulary that may be found in a story.
